What is CASv5?
The construction industry is evolving, and so is the way contractors are assessed. With the launch of Common Assessment Standard v5 it creates a unified, industry-recognised framework that simplifies pre-qualification and raises the bar for safety, compliance and professionalism.
The Common Assessment Standard, developed by Build UK and other key stakeholders, has transformed the construction pre-qualification process, improving efficiency, reducing cost and raising quality standards. It enables you to demonstrate compliance in 13 areas of risk management and is backed by many Tier-1 contractors.
How do we get started?
There are two levels of certification: desktop and site based. You apply to a recognised assessment body for the certification level that is most appropriate for your business based on a range of factors including trade, size and the requirements of your clients. These include organisations like CHAS, Constructionline and Achilles (see Build UK for the full list*).
