SGC Civil Engineering, established in 2005, is a respected, family-run business specialising in deep drainage and civil infrastructure works across the water, wastewater and highways sectors. The company sought support in developing a robust growth strategy to enable future expansion.

Project scope:

We were engaged to evaluate SGC’s current operations, market position, and capabilities to define a roadmap for scalable, sustainable growth. Our remit was to conduct a comprehensive assessment of their internal systems, external market presence, and business development functions. This involved identifying core strengths, analysing their client portfolio, and understanding their positioning within the industry.

What we delivered:

Following a full audit of internal and external processes, we provided the following strategic recommendations and deliverables:

• Streamlined internal processes, policies, and procedures to support scalable growth

• Reviewed existing accreditations and identified additional certifications (eg CHAS) to strengthen industry credibility

• Delivered social media best practice training, with a focus on LinkedIn for professional engagement

SGC Civil Engineering has deep roots in the industry with three generations of experience dating back to 1975. Rebranded in 2016, the company operates from Greater Manchester and is recognised for its technical excellence in drainage and buried pipework solutions.

SGC delivers critical infrastructure projects across roads, motorways, water treatment facilities, and environmental systems under NEC3, NEC4, and JCT contracts. The company is accredited by SMAS Worksafe® and Achilles Building Confidence, and places a strong emphasis on safety, environmental stewardship, and sustainability through the use of biofuels and hybrid equipment.
